Clothing & Home Resource Center Associate St. Vincent de Paul - Cincinnati (SVDP) has served residents of Greater Cincinnati for over 150 years with basic needs such as food, medicine, and homelessness prevention through its outreach center in the West End and 53 parish-based volunteer Conferences. SVDP provides holistic direct assistance and systemic change services while treating neighbors in need with dignity and compassion. We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Clothing & Home Resource Center (CHRC) Associate. Scope of Position: The Clothing and Home Resource Center Associate is responsible for providing a positive experience for neighbors utilizing the services of the St. Vincent de Paul-Cincinnati's Clothing and Home Resource Center. The Clothing and Home Resource Center, located within the Liz Carter Center, provides no-cost clothing and household items to neighbors in need. The team member must be able to establish positive relationships with neighbors in need, proactively stock and organize merchandise, and run a cash register with accuracy. They must adhere to SVDP's policies and procedures to ensure program sustainability. This team member must consistently model the mission and values of St. Vincent de Paul. This is a fulltime position that will include a half day Saturday rotation. Job Responsibilities : Serve neighbors seeking assistance with dignity and respect. Participate as a member of the SVDP Outreach Center Services team as well as positively interacting with volunteers and other SVDP staff. Accurately operate a cash register. Assist with sorting, cleaning, stocking, pricing, and other duties assigned in order to maintain an orderly and well-stocked retail environment. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred. Bilingual (Spanish speaking) abilities are a plus. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate well orally and in writing; commitment to detail; ability to work under pressure; and a comfort in engaging with people of different cultural and economic backgrounds in a faith-based setting are necessary. Physical Requirements: frequent walking; standing; bending; carrying items up to 50 lbs are requirements of this position.
