POSITION SUMMARY:
Drivers are the front line in customer interaction. Being on time, polite, and securely moving our customers' mail is a priority for this position. You will safely drive and transport customer material to specific locations while protecting the mail and the company's property. This position also includes performing initial mail sorting for presorted, stamped, flats, and other processing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate good driving habits, follow posted signs, and drive safely
Complete assigned route in a timely manner
Protect the integrity of the mail in inclement weather (sleeves/cover/etc.)
Interact professionally with customers
Perform initial mail sort based on stamped, presorted, and other processing requirements
Complete final mail sort at the dock (presort/metered/stamped)
Refill and maintain company vehicle (fuel and fluids)
Report vehicle issues, accidents, citations, and customer issues to the Transportation Supervisor
Maintain appropriate appearance (company shirt, respectable pants/shorts, and closed-toed shoes)
Ensure customers have necessary trays, tubs, and mailing materials
Suggest improvements in pickup times/routes
Use hand truck when necessary
Notify the Transportation Supervisor if vehicle maintenance is needed

Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license
Clean driving record
Strong communication skills
Ability to carry 25 lbs
Consistent attendance and punctuality
Maintain clean and presentable company shirt
Demonstrate problem-solving abilities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Work takes place in a vehicle/warehouse environment
Use of standard and specialized office equipment (computers, phones, copiers, mail machines, folder inserters, printers, sorters, etc.) and tools (screwdrivers, clamps, drills, pliers, wrenches, etc.)
Combination of physical and sedentary work
Must be able to lift/carry up to 25 lbs
Activities include filing, bending, standing, reaching, using tools, etc.
Requires speaking and hearing to perform job duties
SHIFT:
Flexible hours required
Most days are between 9 AM - 6 PM
Some days may begin as early as 6 AM or end as late as 6 PM
Full-time position
TRAVEL:
Daily local travel is required
