Director of DTC and Private Client Sales

Position Location: The ideal candidate will reside in Napa, Sonoma, or Marin counties in CA

Position Overview: Would you consider yourself an outgoing, self-motivated, charismatic, entrepreneurial trailblazer that has a passion for fine wine? We are seeking a polished leader who is a forward-thinking visionary and operates with a sense of urgency to help design, launch, execute, and manage the Taub Family Vineyards DTC division and oversee the development of our Taub Private Client sales efforts. The Director of DTC and Private Client Sales will engage with, support, and educate both prospective and existing clients. Being an innovator who brings a fresh perspective on tactics to promote our fine wine portfolio is a must for this role.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Oversee all aspects of the DTC Channel, including existing and new Taub Family Vineyard / California projects as well as strategically relevant imported wines with curated events around the US.
  • Launch and sell out of debut Sign of the Dove release in 2024.
  • Develop, launch, grow, and manage the Taub Private Client division including targeting of key high net worth individuals in investment banks, law firms, private wealth management firms, and other high value industries and events with key strategic alliances.
    • Build Taub Family Private Client mailing list to specific target goals in years 1-5 after launch.
    • Complete and oversee website, host events, and other selected reputation and brand building as part of sales efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge of DTC best practices in the wine business.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and report on all components related to DTC and Taub Private Client sales.
  • Track progress toward the Key Performance Indicator structure.
  • Collaborate cross departmentally with Marketing, Portfolio Management, Public Relations, National Sales and Executive Leadership teams.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related area.
  • 5+ years’ experience in both DTC and E-Commerce Sales efforts.
  • Experience at a luxury domestic winery required.
  • Strong knowledge of the world of wine collectors and high net worth individuals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to interact with and present to e-commerce buyers and key distributor personnel.
  • Superior organizational skills, detail-oriented, must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a dynamic, high energy, team-oriented atmosphere.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Fine wine knowledge and understanding of key regions in France (Alsace, Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone), Italy (Piedmont, Tuscany, Campania, Sicily), US (Napa, Sonoma) and others will be critical to the success of this role.
  • Results-driven: must take a proactive approach and successfully deliver on goals.

The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000.00 plus bonus.
