Job Description

McCormick Construction is seeking a dedicated and proactive Field Safety Coordinator to oversee and support daily safety practices on our active construction sites. This role ensures compliance with OSHA standards, promotes a safety-first culture, and works closely with project teams to prevent workplace incidents. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, confident in field settings, and passionate about promoting worker safety.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct daily jobsite safety walks and inspections to identify hazards and verify compliance with safety standards.

· Enforce McCormick Construction’s safety policies and procedures.

· Lead and document toolbox talks, job hazard analyses (JHA’s), and safety meetings.

· Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions plans.

· Provide on-site safety training and mentoring to field employees and subcontractors.

· Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) is being used correctly and maintained.

· Monitor subcontractor compliance and coordinate enforcement with site supervisors.

· Maintain accurate safety records including inspections reports, training logs, and incident documentation.

· Recommend and help implement improvements to site safety conditions and practices.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· OSHA 30-Hr Construction Certification (required or willing to obtain within 90 days)

· First Aid/CPR Certification (preferred)

· Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to influence behavior and correct unsafe practices.

· Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and visiting multiple job sites.

· Bilingual experience required

· Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:

· Field-based role; frequent travel between project sites required.

· Exposure to an active construction environment, including noise, dust, and heavy equipment.

· Varying temperatures based on location

Physical Requirements

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear

· The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach above shoulders; and stoop, kneel, or crouch

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Do repetitive tasks with few breaks

· Occasional travel is required

· $55,000 - $65,000 annually based on experience
