Overview:

 

The Flow Coordinator works under the direction of the Manger of Emergency Services to facilitate patient flow within the department. He/she is responsible for actively monitoring patient arrival and coordinating patient flow through the various stages of emergency care, ensuring the Mercy experience for all served. This role shall be consistent with the established guidelines of practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics and the Employee Code of Conduct.

 

Qualifications:

• Education : Graduate of a state-approved School of Nursing.
• Licensure : Possess a current RN licensure with the State Board of Nursing in the applicable state of practice or current RN work permit in the applicable state of practice.
• Experience : Minimum of two years of emergency department/ED experience required.
• Certifications : TNCC preferred.Other: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to demonstrate clinical expertise in the area of emergency care. Demonstrate skill in interpersonal relations and communications.
• Physical Requirements :
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
