People Architects is proud to partner with a respected cultural institution in Cleveland to find a Senior Bookkeeper to lead day-to-day financial operations for this dynamic, mid-sized nonprofit.

This is more than just a numbers role — it's an opportunity to directly support impactful programming, community engagement, and the vibrant contemporary arts scene in Northeast Ohio.

We're looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional with nonprofit experience to support accurate, compliant, and transparent financial management. In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with a fractional CFO, senior leadership, and the development team to ensure operational excellence and audit readiness—enabling the broader team to focus on impactful programming and community engagement.

Responsibilities :

• Own all core accounting activities: A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and payroll (Paylocity)
• Maintain GAAP-compliant financial records in QuickBooks Online
• Prepare reports, support audits, and assist with budgets and forecasts
• Collaborate with Development to track restricted/unrestricted donations, pledges, and grants
• Interface with platforms like DonorPerfect, Square, QGiv, and PNC

Qualifications (required and preferred) :

• 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience (nonprofit strongly preferred)
• Deep familiarity with QuickBooks Online and fund accounting
• Payroll experience (Paylocity ideal); Excel proficiency a must
• Clear communicator and strong collaborator across departments
• Bonus: experience with donor platforms (DonorPerfect, QGiv) and external auditors
