Job Description

This position is for a Paraprofessional in a K-12 school setting located in Calumet City, IL. The role is offered as a contract for the entire school year (NSY), providing essential support to classroom teachers and contributing to a productive learning environment for students.

Qualifications and License Requirements:

• Must possess the Illinois ELS-Paraprofessional License, which requires one of the following:
  • An associates degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution, or
  • Completion of 60 semester credit hours of college-level coursework (100-level or above), or
  • A high school diploma or GED plus a passing score of 460 or above on the ETS ParaPro Test, or
  • A high school diploma or GED plus minimum ACT WorkKeys scores of 4 in Applied Mathematics and in Reading for Information or Workplace Documents.
• Full license validity spans five fiscal years and is renewable upon payment of registration fees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist certified teachers in instructional delivery and classroom management.
• Support students academic and behavioral needs, fostering an inclusive and encouraging atmosphere.
• Help implement lesson plans and individualized education programs (IEPs) under teacher supervision.
• Monitor and report on student progress and participate in team meetings when needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school policies and procedures.
